Madhya Pradesh News: Tigers are dying in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna National Park. Tiger has been hunted for the second time within a month. On Wednesday, the body of a two-year-old male tiger was found in Basudha Beat of Kishangarh range. According to Brijendra Jha, Field Director of Panna Tiger Reserve, hunters have electrocuted the tiger. At present, no one has been arrested in this case of hunting. There are 58 adult tigers left in Panna, while there are 20 cubs.
Tigers were extinct even before Panna National Park
Please tell here that at one time tigers had become extinct in Panna National Park. Due to hunting, tigers disappeared from the forest here. Later, by bringing male-female tigers from Bandhavgarh National Park, tigers were re-inhabited in the forests of Panna. But once again Panna Tiger Reserve is becoming a safe haven for tiger hunting. According to Brijendra Jha, Field Director of Panna Tiger Reserve, the poachers have electrocuted the tiger. A female jackal also came under the grip of electric wire. Two tigers have died in the last one month and four in two years in this tiger reserve. At the same time, on 6 December 2022, a tiger’s body was found hanging in Vikrampur beat of Panna National Park. This tiger had died due to getting trapped in the noose of the electric current running wire. Two accused were arrested in this case of hunting. It was claimed that in order to protect his crop from wild animals, he had fenced with electric current wire. The tiger was trapped in it by deception.
The plan to populate tigers started with Tigress P-111
Actually, the story of tigers roaring again in Panna Tiger Reserve started with tigress P-111. In the year 2009, Panna Tiger Reserve became tigerless. Tiger Restoration Scheme was started to re-populate the tigers in Panna. Under this, on March 4, 2009, tigress T-1 Panna was brought from Bandhavgarh. This tigress was mated with male tiger T-3 brought to Panna from Pench Tiger Reserve. After the union of both, tigress T-1 gave birth to four cubs on the night of 16 April 2010 at Dhundhua Seha. Among these cubs, the first cub was P-111. With the birth of this cub in Panna, the success story of increasing the family of tigers in the Tiger Reserve started. That is why every year on April 16, the birthday of Tiger P-111 was celebrated with great pomp in the park. He was called as the king of Bariya. This tiger, the most dominant in the clan of tigers, was found dead on Thursday, June 09, 2022, in suspicious condition on the banks of the Panna-Katni road in the core area of the park.
